Galaxium//1.2 The Remix Update is out!
Galaxium//ONE » Devlog
The second content update.
Is now out.
We are proud to present...
The Remix Update is the biggest update yet, with over 7 new features! Without further ado, let's get into the good stuff!
THE NEW STUFF
- The community-made splash text can now randomly appear in the menu! (They have a ★)
- 5 new waves (yes, the game is even harder now)
- New music by the extremely talented Gruber Music
- A fancy text shine effect that I spent wayyy too long making.
- THE IDOL OF ICE IS FINALLY HERE! The long-awaited community-voted freezing-bullet enemy is here! Good luck. (yes, we know it's green and not blue, sorry, it's the limitations of PICO-8)
- The laser slime has joined the army! Dodge its lasers... or else.
- Like suffering? The current game too easy? Test your skills in Frenzy Mode, where you can't let enemies fly past you!
- And assorted bug fixes
But there's more. We've got big chunky plans for the future of the Galaxium universe.
WHAT'S COMING
Note: Everything here is subject to change. Don't count on it.
- February: A possible local multiplayer version. Drag your friends through the perils of Blurg.
- April: April Fools! hee hee hee
- Sometime: A layered 3D version
- We've also got some slightly bad news. We are reaching the limit of how much game you can put in a PICO-8 cart. We've got two options here:
- Continue working on Galaxium//ONE and split the cart into two (takes a lot of work)
- Create an all-new codebase with the capability for new features being delivered faster and with more quality. This would mean sunsetting Galaxium//ONE and making Galaxium//TWO a reality.
Anyways, that's all stuff you don't need to worry about immediately.
Thank you for reading, and have fun!
